Anthony J. Marletta, Ph.D., CSP, ARM, LEED GA, is a Certified Safety Professional at William Marletta Safety Consultants. He completed his Doctorate at Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Safety Science Program, with a published dissertation that focuses on Surface Microroughness and its relationship with available friction, human slip potential and walkway surface perception.

Prior to his full-time role at WMSC, Anthony worked at Liberty Mutual in their Risk Control Department as a Consultant and Region Manager for over ten years. He has been accredited as a Certified Safety Professional, Associate in Risk Management (ARM), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Green Associate (LEED GA).

Anthony Marletta is the current sub-committee Chairman for the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Committee F13.50 Sub-Committee on Walkway Surfaces, as well as the task-group chairman for multiple ASTM International Standards, such as the Development of the Standard Guide for Premises Design Considering Snow and Ice Management for the Reduction of Pedestrian Falls.

Anthony is also the Chairman for ANSI/ASSP A1264.2 Provision of Slip Resistance on Walking/Working Surfaces. In addition to his work with ANSI, ASSP and ASTM, Anthony is a member of multiple Underwriter Laboratories (UL) Standards committees related to walkway surfaces and consumer products.

He has served from secretary to past president for the Long Island chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), where he was nominated as the Safety Professional of the Year for the 2019-2020 chapter year. He is also the recipient of ASSP’s National American Society of Safety Professionals Emerging Professional Award in 2020 and selected into the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Emerging Professionals Program in 2019.
