Anthony V. Arma, M.S., CSP

Anthony V. Arma, M.S., CSP, is a Certified Safety Professional at William Marletta Safety Consultants. He received his Master’s of Science in Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences from Keene State College, and has been in the occupational safety and health industry for over four years. 

Not only does he specialize in the use of various types of tribometers and other machines to assess and measure the slip-resistance of walking surfaces, but he is a certified user of Regan Scientific Instruments for the BOT-3000E. He is also a member of the American Standard for Testing and Materials’ (ASTM) subcommittee on Walkway Surfaces, F13, and has conducted over a thousand forensic investigations of accident sites in the New York Tristate area. Moreover, Anthony Arma is an accredited Certified Safety professional and a current member of the American Society of Safety Professionals. 

Anthony Arma’s experience has given him the skills to research and apply OSHA, ASTM, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards, among others, as well as it has developed his understanding of the physical components of an accident scene to apply local and state building codes with a nuanced understanding for the law and how it relates to safety.  

During his time at WMSC, Anthony Arma has reviewed accidents involving stairs, ramps, sidewalks, ladders, scaffolds, and more, including other areas of trip, slip, and fall safety. His expertise includes safety-related assessments pertaining to slip resistance testing, such as with the English XL and aforementioned BOT 3000-E, illumination, contrast, roughness, sharp-edge, sharp-point, and noise-level testing.  

Anthony Arma is a trusted and integral part to the foundation of WMSC’s mission statement, which is to make the world a safer place through codes, standards, education, and research. On his off time, Anthony enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, and playing tennis.
